7 LinkedIn Changes That Will Make You Visible to International Recruiters
Most Hispanics have LinkedIn but use it wrong. These 7 changes can triple your profile views in less than 30 days.
Why your current LinkedIn isn't working
Having a LinkedIn profile isn't enough. Most Hispanic professionals have a profile that looks like a typed-up CV, with no strategy, no visibility, and no recruiter messages.
The good news: LinkedIn has a search algorithm. If you know how it works, you can position yourself in searches from recruiters at the companies where you want to work.
These 7 changes are what I apply with all my clients in the first 48 hours. The average result: profile traffic triples in 30 days.
Change #1: Optimize your headline
The headline is the most important part of your profile. It appears when people search for you, when you comment, and when you send connection requests.
The most common mistake: putting only your current job title.
❌Wrong: "Account Manager at PayPal"
✅Right: "Account Manager | SaaS & Fintech | B2B Sales | Digital Payments | European Markets"
The headline has 220 characters. Use them all. Include the keywords recruiters would use to search for you.
Change #2: Professional photo (no excuses)
40% of recruiters admit the photo influences whether they open the profile. You don't need a professional photographer, but you do need:
Photos with shadows, cropped from group photos, or with Instagram filters work against you.
Change #3: Custom banner
The banner is the horizontal space behind your photo. 90% of profiles leave it empty or use LinkedIn's default image.
A well-designed banner communicates:
You can create it for free in Canva in 15 minutes.
Change #4: "About" section with storytelling
This is where you sell yourself. Most people use it to copy their CV. Mistake.
The section should have:
Change #5: Experience with achievements, not responsibilities
Just like in the CV, LinkedIn experience should show results, not job descriptions.
Add numbers: percentages, amounts, timeframes, scale.
Use industry keywords in each position description. LinkedIn indexes them for search.
Change #6: Strategic, endorsed skills
LinkedIn allows up to 50 skills. Most people choose the first that come to mind.
The right strategy:
Endorsed skills carry more weight in the algorithm.
Change #7: Consistent activity
You don't need to publish articles constantly. What helps:
The LinkedIn algorithm rewards consistent activity, even if it's small.
